Halloween parties

We had an exciting weekend full of Halloween parties! Our neighbors had a block party on Friday night and then we had our Ward Carnival and Trunk or Treat on Saturday. Rex was so excited and had so much fun. Sam was tired of wearing a costume. We did a family theme based off of what Rex wanted to dress up as a pirate. So Rex, Mark and I were pirates and Sam was our Parrot! We got all the clothes for our costumes at Goodwill and Other Mothers and then we cut them up and I made Sam into a Parrot! It was so much fun! I was really happy with how well it turned out, especially Sam. I do have to say though that I am all Halloweened out! Too bad we still have to go Trick or Treating on Wednesday!!!!!

Park

It was a beautiful day here yesterday, it actually got up over 70 degrees! We were so excited and so a friend from the ward invited us to the park with a bunch of other people from our ward. We had a great time and Rex was so excited to be outside playing again! He took a nice nap after that! He played almost the whole time with a little girl named Ellie that is in his nursery class. He really plays well with the girls, a ladies man already! They were so cute and I snapped some fun pics of them. I especially love Ellie's face and the way she is looking at Rex in the first one. Such a cutie!

Uncle Jim

Mark's Uncle Jim came to town on Tuesday from smoky S. California and we had the opportunity to go to dinner with him. We went to the yummy Basque Restaurant downtown. It was an eventful dinner with the boys! Rex was on his best behavior and took to Uncle Jim almost immediately. He kept saying, "Untle Dim, Loot at dis." It was pretty cute. Sam was tired so he was a little hard to deal with until Uncle Jim held him and he was captivated. Here is a picture of it. I took it with my camera phone because my camera's batteries were dead so it's not a great picture but cute nonetheless.

He even hugged him a few times and rested his head on Uncle Jim's shoulder! It was so cute! We brought him home and took a tour of our house, had cheescake and were entertained even more by Rex. We had a great time and wish he could have stayed longer. Mark was especially sad to see him go, he really loves him.

Family Night

We invited our friends the Reichner's over for Family Home Evening last night. They have a cute little girl named Annie that Rex talks about all the time. He was so excited for her to come over, he was talking about it all day. We had a great time, I made Tortilla soup and Ranch dressing bread. Chanell and Brock brought Pumpkin Cheesecake. Then we carved pumpkins that we had both grown in our backyards. Rex and Annie had a lot of fun playing with each other, they get along so well! When they left Annie gave Rex a big hug, it was so cute. We are so happy that Rex has a friend that he likes so much. Here's a slideshow of our fun evening.

We got a job!!!!

Mark got a job today! YAY!!!! He will be a Senior Network Analyst for Boise City. So nice stable job with great benefits including good vacation and sick days! We are excited and it is a great stress off of our back. We decided to celebrate by going to McDonald's (I know lame but they have a play yard!). Here are some pics of our celebratory lunch. Click on the picture of Mark and Sam, Sam's face is hilarious!

Dancing and Eating

Sam LOVES to eat!!! It is so funny to see him eat bananas, he will eat almost a whole one, with half of it on him of course! It's so cute to see him go to town on it.

I captured Rex dancing the other day and it was SOOOOO hilarious! That kids got some moves!

A fun quiz

I thought this was fun and I LOVE brownies!!!

You Are a Brownie

Decadent and intense, you aren't for the weakhearted.
Those who can deal with your strong flavor find out how sweet you really are.

Believe me it got worse after the pictures were taken, all a 2 year old needs is a few seconds.

Corn Maize!

Like everyone else who's blogs I have looked at recently, we also did the corn maize this weekend! We went with our friend's, the Cole's from our last ward. We love them and Rex especially loves their kids. Hayden is closest to his age, but Taylor is the one who has captured his heart! She is 5 and already breaking hearts. We had so much fun and here are some of the things we did.

Eating

Sam now seems like such a big boy. He is eating so much and let me tell you he LOVES to eat! I had to put a picture of him up and an old pic of Rex at the same age. Same seat, same outfit, can you tell which one is which?

I also had to post this cute picture my neighbor took of Sam and I the other day. She loves photography and was playing with our camera and this was the result. Maybe I should hire her?

A Beautiful Fall Day

We went to the Temple today to see my mom and my Grandpa since their ward had their Temple day. We surprised them and while we were waiting outside I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take some beautiful Fall pictures on the Temple grounds. They're pretty cute if I do say so myself.

Weekend with Grandma (aka: Drama)

We had a great Conference weekend and it was even better when Grandma came! Rex absolutely loves his "Drama"! The first thing he said to me Monday morning was, "Where's Drama?" No, good morning mommy, or hug, only love for his grandma. I had to take some cute pics of them. Thanks for coming Grandma we had so much fun!

Update

Since lots of people have asked I thought I would leave a quick update but no pics, sorry! Mark is doing good, his surgery went fine, it was just an outpatient thing and he seems to be recovering great. Just a little sore which is to be expected. Luckily it is Conference weekend so we can just relax. Sam seems to be doing much better. We'll see how tonight goes. He started teething and has had a really hard time cutting the first two. Then on top of that he got some virus. I thought at first it was just the teething but his temp got up to over 102 which is a little high for just teething. He has also had diarrhea. He literally has wanted to be held 24/7 the last 3 days because he feels so crappy. At times I love to cuddle him, but when Rex is jumping off the walls, and Mark is recovering from surgery, and the house looks like a pigsty, holding him gets a little frustrating! Oh well I still love him, we will just live in filth.

I love to see the Temple

With everything that has gone on lately in our lives, I have been needing some major stress relief. Thank goodness for the temple! Sam is sick and Mark is having surgery on Thursday so today I got out and went to a session at the Boise Temple. It's so nice to have a place to just relax and feel peace from this crazy life.
