Summer days

Just wanted to show some pics of our Summer fun this week. We went to the water park as a family Tuesday night and then today the boys and I met a bunch of friends at the park to play in the water feature. Rex went on 3 new slides all by himself at the water park, he was so proud! Fun times had by all!

Mama's back!

I had a great week at girls camp last week, it was so fun! I am still exhausted but it was well worth it. I had a great time bonding and getting to know the girls and other leaders better, feeling the spirit and appreciating my family because they were not around. Luckily no rattlesnakes were seen and all our activities worked out. Here's a pic of us leaders attempting to sing to the girls.

Notice Paige and I aren't attempting so well, the girls got a good laugh out of that one. If you want to see more pictures of our experience you can check out Angie's blog by clicking here. There is a great video of Paige on there.
When I pulled up on Saturday I had a great surprise. Mark and the neighbors were finishing our landscaping! It looks amazing!! Here are before and after pictures. Thanks honey, I love you! And thanks John and Lucy for purchasing the rock!

Island Park

Finally I am getting to the final part of out trip! This week has been crazy trying to recover from our trip and trying to get ready for girl's camp tomorrow. I have had no time! After Yellowstone we went to Island Park and stayed for 3 nights at Dave's brother's cabin. It is so beautiful, we love Island Park. Ben and Jessica were there for the first day we were there so the boys got to play again. They were laughing and playing in this picture.

We had a great time! The highlight though was Monday night, after the kids went to bed, Mark and I went fishing together. It was the first time I got to wear the waders and boots Mark bought me last year. We had a great time. It was approaching dusk and the fish were literally going crazy, they were jumping all around us. I have been fly fishing many times but have never been able to actually catch anything. I have had lots of hits but couldn't keep them on. But this time I caught 6 fish!!!!! I was so excited!!!! They were little but it was still awesome. Mark and I had a blast.

On the way home from our trip we stopped in Rexburg to see Emily my friend who I haven't seen since I got married. She and her little Lily were so cute and it was so good to see them! I miss you Em! Rex and Lily hit it off immediately.

Yellowstone

Friday night we headed to Wyoming and drove as far as Lander, WY before we stopped and got a hotel room. We didn't sleep a whole lot because we got the only room left in town which was a smoking room, YUCK! But that's ok. The kids woke up bright and early so we got on the road to Yellowstone.

The kids being good on the LONG drive

It was a beautiful drive through the Wind River Reservation, we even saw a baby moose crossing the river. We got to Yellowstone around noon and met my mom, step-dad and Ben, Jessica and Jack at Old Faithful. It was beautiful and nice to get out of the car.

Denver

We got to Denver Sunday night and were making good time until we hit weekend traffic back into Denver about an hour away, that hour took us 2 hours. The kids were fried from the drive but overall did great. We were able to stay with my dad and his new wife Liz in her house. We had a good time and enjoyed spending time with our family in Denver. Tuesday we went into downtown Denver to visit Grandpa at work. He works on the 47th floor of a building and the view was spectacular!! Of course I forgot to take a picture but I did get some cute one of our adventure at lunch.

Wednesday we went to the Aquarium. Rex loved it so much, he just loves fish! He ran through it twice and I had to drag him out of there. Sam was pleased also. We even got to pet some stingrays. I took so many pictures that I had to make a slideshow.

We also saw a deer on the street by my dad's on the way home!

Thursday I met up with a good friend that I grew up with. We were in the same ward almost the whole time I lived in Idaho Falls but I haven't seen her since I graduated. We reconnected through blogging and since she just moved to Denver for the Summer, I thought I would take the opportunity to see her. It was so fun! She took us to a shopping center that had all sorts of fountains that the kids could play in. Lindsey was so good with my kids and they loved her. It was so fun to catch up and connect on shared experiences. Thanks Lindsey!

We are back!!!!

It is so good to be home and healthy! The last month at home was spent with so much drama that to now be home and healthy is so wonderful! I feel normal again, YAY! We had a great trip but are happy to be back in our beds. It will take a few posts to document everything so stay tuned. The first part of our trip was spent in Provo with my brother Ben, his wife Jessica and their little Jack. I hardly took any pictures, duh, but we had a good time. We all camped out in their little place. The kids did surprisingly well and we had a great time watching the Stadium of Fire from the hill, walking through downtown Provo, eating at Cafe Rio and playing Mario Kart on Wii. Here are some pictures. You can also see more pics here on my sister-in-laws blog, she got some cute ones.

Rex admiring Cleveland the pet snake. He loved that thing!

Sam and Jack in the bath. Good job on covering yourselves up boys!
