Sammy boy

Oh boy I can't believe that my little guy is 2 today!! He has been such an adorable little personality and is definitely my little cuddle bug. I wish I could just freeze this age. I love the huge bear hugs with his little arms wrapped around my neck in the morning. I love hearing, "Mom, I wanna HOLD you!" when he wants me to pick him up. I love seeing him learn new things and have fun exciting experiences and I love that for the most part he doesn't talk back yet! He has been such a joy from the very beginning. He came into this world exactly how I envisioned, having a fabulous and quick labor experience with him and has continued to just be mellow and easy and fun. And boy does he have a quirky side. He cracks himself up and loves to try and make every one else laugh. I love you Sammy boy! Don't grow up too fast!
Here are some pics from his party today. We cleaned the garage and I made a racetrack in there with a heater so the kids could play and have fun without freezing.
Kate, not sure if she should join the CRAZY boys!

Rex, one of the CRAZY boys!

David loved it, he loves cars.

Free pancakes and tacos!

Today must be free food day! This morning from 7-10 IHOP had free pancakes so after I dropped Rex off and preschool Sam and I went and had a pre-his birthday breakfast out. It was really fun, he's such a cutie and he loves pancakes!

Then Jack in the box has 2 free tacos today from noon to 11:00 p.m. Just print out this coupon. So that was my lunch, healthy I know.
Sam was being so funny in the car this morning, I had to capture it. He does this goofy voice that CRACKS me up every time. It's so high pitched and he KNOWS he's being funny.

FHE Bowling

Rex has been asking to go bowling forever so tonight for FHE we did it! We surprised him and he was SO excited when we walked inside! He did great and actually tied mommy the first game! Mommy came back though and beat daddy the second game. It was one of the most fun FHE nights we have ever had.

Field trip and stats

Rex's preschool had a field trip on Thursday and I volunteered to help drive. Mostly because it was at the Fire station and I knew Sam would also love this field trip. They weren't disappointed! They got to see where the firemen live, watch one slide down the pole and even sit inside the fire truck. We also got to hear the siren and see the lights. One of the firemen commented on how into it Sam was and thought maybe we had found his future career. I forgot my camera of course so I only had my cell phone, that's why the pictures aren't great.

The boys both had well checks on Friday. Rex's 4 year, a couple months late and Sam's 2 year. They did great! Rex was really nervous about going because he knew he would be getting a "poke". I promised a trip to McDonald's afterward though so he was ok with it. I love our Dr. and his nurse. She asked who wanted to go first with the shot and Rex said, "Iron man". He had brought his toy Iron man in. She went and got an alcohol swab and a needle and actually gave Iron man a shot! Rex was so excited and made it easier for him. They both cried for a minute, but over all it went well. It's so much less traumatic just getting 1 shot than 5! Rex had an eye test, which I was worried about since I am so blind, but he has great vision so far. That was a relief. They are both growing great and are healthy. Rex was even able to tell the Dr. all about elephants, where they live, what they eat and what they do with their trunks. It was cute.
The stats:
Rex
41 pounds- 90th percentile
42 1/2 inches- 95th percentile
The last 2 years have been surprising. He has always been tall, but up until he hit 3, he was always 50% or lower on weight.
Sam
28 pounds- 50th percentile
34 3/4 inches- 75th percentile

Rex's first talk

Rex gave his very first talk in Primary on Sunday. He did a great job! He loves getting up there and talking in the microphone. He spoke clearly and loud, but not too loud. He was so proud of himself that when Grandma came after church he wanted to recreate it for her. So Mark filmed it. I am so proud of him!

Pre Birthday weekend

My mom and Dave came into town Sunday for some Presidents day fun and also to celebrate Sam and my mom's birthday a little early. They share their birthday on the 25th so we will make it a tradition every year to get together. They enjoyed their joint birthday cake.

Preschool Valentine's party

Rex's Valentines party was today at Preschool, so we spent yesterday working on these.

Is it bad that I think his were the cutest ones? Probably, but they were. :)
He also drew a Valentine card for his teacher. I didn't get a picture but I am thinking he is a little fixated on the body right now. As he was drawing he said, "Miss Cindy has boobs." I explained yes she does but we don't discuss other people's private areas. I then looked at his picture and realized that he drew boobs. I also realized that the pictures he drew yesterday for his grandparents all came equipped with boobs... Do you think I need to start locking the door while I am showering?!?!?! Crazy kid. Oh yes and Miss Cindy noticed the boobs.

Watching birds

This is what Abby likes to do outside.
Waiting patiently for a bird to land on the tree.

What was that noise?

Wait, is someone at the door?

Yes they are, YAY!

Here I come guys!

Now let me in.

P.S. Can you tell the sun only hits half of our lawn in the winter time?
