He loves cars

Sam is obsessed with cars. I never realized how much until recently. He always points out cars and say, "that's like ____ car". Fill in the blank with either daddy, mommy, grandma, VeAnn or Uncle David. For awhile I thought he was just noticing cars that look like our different cars. It started off with VeAnn's car. She has a Hyundai Santa Fe. Every time we see a Hyundai Santa Fe driving he would point it out, even if it was a different color. Cool right? Well then I noticed that he knows the different car brands. Any time we see a Lexus, it could be a car or and SUV, a completely different color or style and he says, "That's like Daddy's car" since daddy has a Lexus. Mine is a Toyota so ALL Toyota's, no matter what kind are like mommy's car. All Hyundai's cars are like VeAnn's. Grandma has a Honda, so all Honda's are like grandma's. And now that Uncle David lives with us, all Mazda's are like Uncle David's car. What kills me is that he notices the difference between Hyundai and Honda! It's AMAZING! When I first realized what he was doing I almost couldn't believe it, but he continues to do it over and over again. So what do you think? A future car salesman, mechanic, CEO of Honda? Apparently he is partial to foreign models.

Zoo time!

Rex had a field trip to the zoo on Thursday so Sam and I decided to tag along. It was really fun! There were SOOOOOO many schools there though, it was a little overwhelming. Rex loves Preschool and is really going to miss it when the year ends in a couple of weeks. He told me the other day that his favorite friends were all his Preschool friends.

Fondant class

This month I am doing the Fondant cake class. I love the look of Fondant so I am so excited to be taking this class. This is my first cake. It turned out pretty good except for the HUGE stamen in the middle of the calla lily! We had to pre make that and I wasn't sure how big the flowers would be. Anyway, it's pretty cool.

Our busiest weekend of the year

This weekend is always fun and exciting as well as busy. 6 years ago Saturday Mark and I were married. Yes on Mother's day weekend and also my Grandpa's birthday, as well as my brother Matt's. So we have lots of excuses to celebrate! This year we have Mark's brother David living with us for a month or two until he finds a home for his family.
The kids have enjoyed every minute of it.
Mark and I were able to go out and look at some Parade of Homes and then had a YUMMY dinner of artichoke dip, sushi and some wraps. It was nice to spend some time together. I love Mark so much and am so grateful that I married my best friend. Life is truly easy with him by my side.
Today has been an amazing Mother's day. I got to sleep in, woke up to breakfast in bed and didn't have to make a bit of food all day! It was great! Mark and David made an amazing dinner while I lounged on the couch. I love being a mother. It's the most difficult work I have every done, but by far the most rewarding. My boys are so loving and bright and challenge yet LOVE me unconditionally every day. I love them so much!
This evening I requested that we go up to the river and spend some time as a family. I had a great time. It was a beautiful evening and a gorgeous area! Here's some pictures.

Primary Talent show

We had our annual Primary talent show tonight. Last year, Rex famously got up and instead of doing a somersault, he said a prayer. This year he decided to draw a picture and Sam had to get in on it too even though he isn't officially in Primary. So they both spent time working on pictures today. This is how it went.

Here's the pictures:
Rex drew a rainbow, rocks, hearts, Jesus and shrimp there at the bottom. I asked him why he drew shrimp and he said because Jesus is eating them. That's cool, I love shrimp, I'm sure Jesus does as well!

Sam's drawing of me apparently?

Sorry everyone

Hey everyone,
This is Abby the dog. Mom told me I had to apologize for worrying so many people when I escaped my yard today and had the adventure of my lifetime! Sure, the neighbor boys should of shut the gate tightly but I know better than to run off. It just was so tempting! Spring has arrived and there are so many sights and sounds in our neighborhood. The field behind our house is full of mice and hawks that circle all day looking for food. I am a bird dog, how could I not enjoy that? I tried to explain to dad that I was practicing my hunting skills but he didn't buy it. The canals are full and surround our neighborhood, I am a retriever with webbed feet, I LOVE to swim!
Thank goodness the nice man who I followed home while he was walking his dogs kept me safe and saw my mom's sign on the telephone pole and gave her a call. I really did miss my family, although Rex wouldn't leave me alone when I got home! How can I blame him though, mom says he said 4 prayers for me to be safe and found. He loves me.
Mom, woke me up to write this because after my 7 hour adventure I am exhausted! I ate a big bowl of food, crashed and until now have barely stirred. Oh yea, I did have to have a bath first. I hate that stupid bath but after my adventures I stunk, or at least that's what mom said. I roll in poo so what do I know about stench?
So sorry everyone and especially to mom who couldn't get anything accomplished today besides looking for me and crying. I will never try and run away again.

Love,
Abby
