We finally went to Kiddie Kandids today and got the boys pictures taken. We had individual ones and their first together. They are so cute! I love pictures and really should do them more often. They did pretty good but were definately ready to be done by the time it ended!

Sun, fun, and sick kids

Sam has his first ear infection. Normally this would be really sad but I am happy to know there is a reason behind his waking up EVERY hour for 3 nights in a row!! This is how I look with 3 days of no sleep, and how Sam looks with an ear infection! At least he is still cute!

We had a visit from Emily, a good friend from IF who now lives in LA. She brought her twins who I haven't seen in 2 years! They are SO cute! We went to Roaring Springs, Rex had a ball and loved his new friends Ava, Bailey, and Brooklyn, Leisle's girl. He also had a great time "regulating" Bowen, Leisle's little 10 month old boy. Poor Sam got to see what he has in store for him. Here's some pictures of Roaring Springs. The funny thing is we couldn't get a picture with all 3 of them looking at the camera at the same time, one was ALWAYS looking away! :)

And finally just to show you what Rex likes to do when mommy is not watching him. Just give him 5 minutes and this child can get into things you wouldn't believe. And unfortunately for Boykin, he is his favorite prop.

Yard and Carnival

This is a good weekend because we finally have a beautiful yard!

Created with Paul's flickrSLiDR.
And because we have a beautiful yard, we have our husband and father back which means we got to spend some family time at the carnival today. We had a great time. Rex loves animals so we spent lots of time looking at the cows and a few bunnies and some poultry. Sam didn't care much for the animals but he enjoyed the bumpy ride through the dirt and rocks. We enjoyed the greasy food and relaxing in the shade also. Rex's favorite part though was the rides. This is the first year he has been old enough to do some of them by himself, he felt like such a big boy, you could see it all over his face! My Rex is growing up, I had glimpses of him walking 2 steps behind me and not wanting to be seen with his dorky parents. He already wants to do everything on his own. When we brush teeth he always says, "I wanna do it myself mommy". At least Sam still needs me! I wish he needed me a little less in the middle of the night but overall I enjoy it. All I have to do when he s upset is hold him and he is happy. Now for some R & R maybe?
Happy Father's Day everyone!!

Mama Bear rears her ugly head

I can not handle when other kids hurt mine, I know this is something I need to get over because obviously having boys they are going to get in fights and have kids bug them, but I am still not ok with it. We went to Stefanie's today and then decided to go to McDonald's with the kids. When we walked in of course the kids had to run into the play area but I figured it was fine

since there was only 1 door you can go in and out of and also because Rex was with Derek and Daeson. So Stef and I order our food and as I walk into the play area I hear my son SCREAMING at the top of the big toy. Of course I can't see him because he is those tube things. So I put my food down and climb up into the toy, not an easy task for an adult. I get up there and find Rex by himself just screaming with snot running down his face. He is crying too hard to tell me what is going on so I slide down the slide with him. Well at the bottom of the slide is this lady with her kid who is probably 4. She asks me what happened and I said I don't know and she looks at her kid and asks him if he hurt Rex. The kid gets this guilty look on his face and says no. So then this other lady comes over and says I saw him up there kicking him. Lovely! Well the mom was ticked at her kid and storms off with him but then 10 minutes later she lets him keep playing. In the meantime I am fumming and I just want to go over and yell at the little bully but instead I keep giving them dirty looks. Poor Rex to have some big bully beating him up for no reason. I know Rex didn't do anything because he is such a sweetie he never does anything unless he gets hit first. I understand a kid hitting him now and then especially when they are around his age or younger but this kid was old enough to know better and I am NOT ok with kicking my child. AGHHHH! I am fumming just thinking about it. How am I going to handle when they are in school? I better toughen my skin I guess. :{

Close call

Oh boy today was one of those days!! Rex has been a royal pain in the you know what lately and today he woke up with a stuffy nose, so we are hoping that is why he has been ownery. Anyway so today I was in the garage painting a dresser and he was right outside the back garage door playing with his Shrek toys. So I decide to water the garden and as I watering I kept checking on him since he was around the corner, but literally 15 feet away. Well next thing I know he is gone, not surprising since he always is running off, but he never gets far and it had only been a minute. So I go looking for him and I can't find him anywhere. I go inside to see if he had gone in there. Mark hadn't seen him and so he comes out to help me. After looking all around the house, in the house, and in the garage we start freaking out. Mark takes the car and starts driving around the neighborhood. I went next door to see if they had seen him since he LOVES our next door neighbors but they hadn't either. So at this point I have about 5 neighbors helping me and I am balling as visions of my son being kidnapped and us appearing on the evening news are flashing through my head. Suddenly both Mark and I(with some divine help I believe) both asked VeAnne our next door neighbor to go look through her house since he loves them so much. Sure enough he had walked into their house undetected, grabbed the cat, and shut himself in Ethan's (8 year old boy) room! I hugged him and then felt like beating him!! Instead I set him down and tried to explain to a 2 year old why it is not ok to run off without mommy or daddy. Not sure he got it but he did seem to feel bad that I was crying. It really made me realize how much I love my boys and how devastated I would be if something happened to one of them. It also made me realize that we need to get our fence finished! Anyway all is well, just got our blood pressure rising.

I also have to show some pictures of Sam's cute seat I bought him. It is so cool, it allows a 3 month old to sit up unassisted, he looks so stinkin cute in it, I have been constantly taking pictures!

I LOVE MY BOYS!!

This year so far

We have had many exciting things happen to us this year. In January we bought our first house!!! Yea! We love it and haven't stopped doing projects since. Mark just finished the backyard and we can't wait until he gives the green light on when we can walk on it!

We also had our second son Samuel John on February 25th. I had a beautiful, natural labor that lasted just 6 hours and I made it to the hospital in time to push! I was especially thrilled that I was able to have a VBAC, the recovery was amazing and I finally feel like I got the birth I had always hoped for. You can read my birth story at http://www.pregnancybirthandbabies.com/enjoy_samuel_john.htm
Sam is a calm, happy baby who has been smiling from the very beginning. He is opposite from his brother in just about all things, especially his chunky little body! Rex has been a great big brother so far.

Finally we finally got 2 cousins on my side. Ben and Jessica had Jack Michael on May 18th and Matt and Jenny had Jase Matthew on May 23rd. Bring on the boys! We are so excited that our kids will have cousins close to their age now on both sides. We had a great time visiting them last weekend for Jack's blessing.

Mark got fired after we got home and it turned into a blessing in disguise. One of his clients found out and told him to immediately send her his resume. He did and went in for an interview and in 2 days of being fired he had a new job making way more money!! We are so excited and really feel like this company and position is a better fit for him and his style of selling. Good riddence A+ Benefits. You no longer get my husband working his tail off for you at a lousy salary!
