Alturas Lake

We went to Alturas Lake last weekend with my family. It was beautiful and we had a ton of fun! We especially enjoyed the water and the fishing! Rex loved seeing us catch fish! Sam enjoyed falling asleep in his stroller! All in all a great time!
And I thought I would add some cute pics of the boys! Rex is getting SO big and Sam is 6 months old this weekend!!!!! Time flies!

Discovery Center

This is a little late but a week ago Saturday we went to the local Discovery Center with the boys. It's been really busy lately and they are excited because of the space shuttle Endeavor. The teacher on board is from Idaho and taught in Moscow for years, Barbara Morgan. Rex absolutely loved it, he loved seeing how all the things worked, maybe he will be a scientist or an astronaut. Sammy was a good sport and just hung out in his stroller. We had a lot of fun and got some really cute pictures.

BTW, Mark lost his job again. :( The company has run out of money so they had to let people go, so we are now jobless again but hey on a positive note we LOVE having Mark home with us, but hopefully not for too long! :)

Green Apple pie?

Yesterday at some point I wasn't watching what Rex was doing (shocking I know). Well when I finally realized what he was doing he had already made this concoction. He got in the fridge and took out 2 eggs, found a pan and pulled a chair up to the counter. He broke the eggs into the pan, notice he didn't get any shells in, added water and stirred it up. I asked him what he was making and he said he was making me a green apple pie! HMMMM... ok! Pretty funny! Maybe Rex will be a culinary chef when he grows up, after all he can crack eggs into a pan and manage not to get the shell in!!

I also had to show everyone how big Sam looks lately! He is growing up right before our eyes. I can't wait to see what a cute boy he will grow up to be. Oh wait maybe I can wait to have 2 walkers!

A GREAT husband

I just want to brag about my hubby for a minute! He is SUCH a good dad, so caring, loving, and playful with his boys. I just recently got called to be the 2nd Counselor in the Young Women's Presidency and he has totally stepped up to the plate. I have had two nights in a row where I have been gone all night, a 2 hour Presidency meeting and a Mutual activity that lasted 3 hours. On top of this the kids have been sick (I know shocking, right! Stinkin allergies) and he has done it all without complaining. I am going to be so busy with this calling and he has not said a word of complaint. I can't say I was the same way when he was the Young Men's President. He is such a great example to me and has truly taught me a lesson on what it is to be a supporting spouse! I love him!

Stolen Moments

Usually Rex is not what I would call the "model" older brother. He gets jealous and likes to yell at Sam a lot. Usually it is in the car when Sam is looking at him and smiling, for some reason Rex doesn't like that so he yells at him to stop looking at him. Which of course makes me sad and drives me insane at the same time. Well the other morning I was making breakfast or something when I realized it was really quiet and I didn't know where Rex was. I go to investigate and find him in Sam's room smiling and talking to his little brother. Sam was looking at him with complete adoration! It was SO sweet. He had even got Sam a book to look at. I have to cherish these moments because they are few and far between. Here's a picture of the brothers after they came downstairs.

AWWWWWW!

I've been meaning to post this for awhile but I have been so busy! Last Thursday was another one of those days! We had to keep Rex up really late the night before and then wake him up early so that he would be sleep deprived for his EEG. They like them to fall asleep during it, yea right Rex fall asleep when you want him to! So no he didn't fall asleep but here is a picture of his EEG. We don't know the results yet but we will keep everyone posted.

Anyways so then went swimming at the neighborhood pool in the neighborhood next to ours with some friends. Rex is kinda afraid of deep water so he typically avoids it. He had floaties on but he decided to take them off. He was playing in the foot and a half deep water, which is a pretty large area. I took my eyes off of him for a second to put sunscreen on Sam, when I turned around he was standing in over 3 feet of water with his arms in the air. His face was just under the water and he had the look of extreme panic on his face. He doesn't know how to hold his breath so there were bubbles coming up and he was just gulping in water! I ran over to him and grabbed him out but he was still coughing up a ton of water and he cried for quite awhile. It was so terrifying to see him like that. I kinda lost it that night because I realized that even when I am being a diligent mother and watching my kids, accidents happen! Just imagine if I hadn't been watching him! I just felt like that was the icing on our cake of drama this year and so I felt really anxiety ridden and out of control. Mark kept reminding me that we can't control everything in life and that until I realize that and put things in God's hands I am going to be one stressed out mommy. I just don't think I am ready for that yet, I have a hard time giving up control. I don't want anything to happen to my kids and I do want to be able to control it. I know I can't but that doesn't make me feel any better. Maybe one day I will learn this lesson, isn't that what parenthood is all about, learning?

Bye Bye hair

So I chopped my hair off yesterday! I got this itch to do it on Sunday so on Tuesday I had my neighbor come over and hold the mirror so I could cut it. It turned out pretty good and it feels SO good to have short hair.

I had to post these cute pictures from swimming at my friends pool today! It was the first time Sam liked the water because it was actually warm, he loved that! The water park's water is always pretty chilly! We had a great time!
