Time out

Rex has been spending a lot of quality time in time out lately. I guess he's feeling like others need to experience it also because today he decided his robot needed to go to time out! It was so funny to see him put it on the time out chair, tell him he was naughty and make him sit there. Then when he saw me taking pictures he decided he needed to sit in time out with the robot. Ahhh the things kids do.
Sam has started eating some finger foods. He loves these rice crackers I got him that literally melt in his mouth. Here's a cute picture of it.

You know your in Mormon country when...

I found this online today and just had to share because it is hilarious!

You Know You Are In Mormon Country If:

# You have a bumper sticker that says "Families are Forever"

# When you shop on Sunday, you post date your check.

# You were an aunt or uncle before the age of three.

# Your spouse's mother was pregnant at your wedding.

# Your family considers a trip to McDonalds a night out.

# You consider "dam" a swear word.

# You consider peanut butter on the seats of your car an accessory.

# Your first child was conceived on your honeymoon.

# You feel guilty when you watch Monday Night football.

# Your kids belive the deer hunt is a national holiday.

# You drink caffinated coke from a brown paper bag.

# You consider a temple reccommend a credit reference.

# At least two of your salad bowls are at the home of neighbors.

# There is a similarity between ward basketball and the L.A. riots.

# You think Jack Daniels is a country western singer.

# You negotiate prices at garage sales.

# You think women should stop having kids at 34 because 35 is just too many.

# You can make jello salad without a recipe.

# You heard about BYU football in testimony meeting.

# You have two gallons of ice cream in the freezer at all times.

# Your father-in-law thinks Ronald Reagan was a liberal.

# A member of your family wrote in Lavell Edwards for president in the last election.

Two for Two

Alright I think it's official, I am an inattentive mother! When Rex was little, maybe 4 or 5 months old, he rolled off of our guest bed. I was right there and saw it happen but couldn't get to him in time. Luckily it isn't far off the ground. Well you would think I would learn my lesson. I didn't. Often if Sam isn't feeling very good he is hard to get to sleep. So sometimes I lay on the guest bed with him since it is in his room. After he falls asleep I surround him with the bed pillows because I didn't think he could get past those yet, well I was wrong! He was sleeping the other day and I heard him wake up and start making little noises, but he wasn't upset so I didn't go running up there. Then I heard a thud, followed by the pain cry! Sure enough he was on the ground next to the bed. I felt SO terrible! I guess he won't be sleeping on the bed ever again. Luckily he was fine after a cuddle with mom and has shown no signs of any major damage. So there we have it two for two, let's hope I don't make it three for three one day.
And by the way, Sammy is now cutting his first tooth! We were expecting it long ago since Rex got his first at 3 1/2 months but now 7 months later we see a little white bud! Now I have got to teach him not to bite me when nursing. YOUCH!

I came upon Rex singing in his room to himself the other day. It was so cute and well I think the video speaks for itself.

Smarty pants

Rex is such a bright boy, he amazes me. I am very proud because he loves one of my favorite things to do, PUZZLES! He is a natural and I am amazed at how well he does them. We got him some 24 piece puzzles at Walmart and he can do them ALL by himself, it AMAZES me! Here is Rex with one of his favorite CARS puzzles.

And Sam likes to crawl to the puzzles and eat them, such a big boy.

My other favorite time of day!

I need to be fair, I LOVE my kids and so this is my OTHER favorite time of day, morning!

My favorite time of day!

Nuff said!

A Christmas Story

Do you guys remember when the little brother in The Christmas Story is eating his mashed potatoes like a pig and he is bouncing up and down, snorting and laughing, while his mom says. "That's my good little piggy!" Well I gave Rex some YUMMY chocolate cake tonight and that is what he proceeded to do with it. It was hilarious because he sounded JUST like him but he has never even seen that movie, I was dying of laughter. Here's the pics. By the way if you want to make the BEST chocolate cake ever just ask me for the recipe.

Ear infections

Ear infections are of the devil I've decided. Poor Sam keeps getting them and he is miserable and in turn we are miserable. This time we tried the natural route. We took him to the Chiropractor, we used Garlic Oil in his ears, and just tried to bear it out. A week later it seemed to be working, he got better it seemed and than 3 days later sick again and pulling at his ears. So after 2 weeks of little sleep, we went to the Dr. today and got an antibiotic. Poor kid, I hate putting him on meds but I hate no sleep worse. I tried the natural route, didn't work so thank goodness someone invented the antibiotic!

6 months old

I should have posted this last week since it was then that Sam actually turned 6 months old, but unfortunately he had an ear infection at the time so I was getting up every 3 hours with him, thus I was lazy as can be during the day. He had his well check this week and weighs 16 lbs 4 oz. Smaller than I thought since he packed on SO much at the beginning but bigger than Rex was at that age, so still my chubby boy! He is such a happy boy (when he isn't sick!) and is figuring out how to sit up, and trying really hard to crawl! He gets SO frustrated that he can't! He loves food and has eaten everything I give him. Right now he is getting blended garden food and seems to enjoy that. He is such a sweetie and I love him!
