Applesauce?

We got a ton of apples for free from a neighbor and I am going to make and can applesauce tomorrow. I have already dried apple slices, and made fruit leather. So does anyone have any good homemade applesauce recipes?

this is from nick's grandma -- everyone loves it, but it is a "chunky" recipe, though I suppose you could blend it.

6 apples - peel, core, slice into pot (she used the word kettle- HA), add water (no more than 1/2 cup) - cook until apples are tender. mash with masher if too lumpy. add 1 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.

i've made this a few times and my kids really like it.

oh yeah-- i think i cooked it on medium. she didn't specify, since in the "olden days" they just cooked according to taste and stuff and didn't mess with measurements and exact heat. i'd just say make sure it doesn't burn, but you could do whatever heat you want.

I don't know about applesauce, but my mom used to make apple butter and it was so yummy!
